Lechem Mishneh: Without Limits Print E-mail
Written by Mrs Shifra Stern

ShabbatLechem Mishna reminds me of the message of “I am limitless! I can do anything and be anything!” The two loaves of challah that we partake of on Shabbos represents the Manna

that fell in double quantity on Erev Shabbos for the Yidden in the Midbar. Hashem ceased sending the Manna on Shabbos; Hashem caused “Dai”, a limit, which appears like a restriction or an ending of something good…..

Or so it seems.

The Yidden’s experience with a “Dai” of the Mann was actually an opportunity to ask Hashem for more. More expansion, more growth, more blessing……More awareness that they are above and beyond limits!
The Yidden in the Midbar actually were taken again and again to new heights in their development every time they experienced the events in the “Dayeinu” song. Events that look like limits which actually sent the powerful message that there are no limits!

We often believe when we run into what looks like a “dead end situation” or an obstacle in the road on our journey of life, that this is horrible; the end of the world. In actuality this is a greatest gift from Hashem when we understand the meaning of “Dai”. It’s a chance to ask from our Creator for more! An opportunity to access something that is beyond limits!!

So when we gaze at those delicious Challos on Shabbos, let’s look at them as a reminder to ask from our Creator anything we want in our lives, our Avodas Hashem, or in whom we want to become! Without limits!!
Good Shabbos everyone!!
