Amidah: Teshuva: The Lost Sheep Print E-mail

AmidahA sheep that has wandered from the flock and finds itself in the forest, terrified of dangerous animals, is desperate for the shepherd to find her, or to signal where she can return to the flock. So too, a soul that has lost itself and understands that she is in danger of falling or and vulnerable to attack, waits for a signal from God, where He can be found.

We use this blessing to cry out to our Shepherd to “Bring us back” – direct us how we can return in safety to You.
