only Hashem exists. Rabbi Simcha Weinberg said this several years ago in a shiur he gave on Yiras Hashem – Awe of God. He said that Since Hashem can take away our existence at any split second, and since He gives us this existence and renews it not every day but every micro second, then we don’t really exist. It is only the Ribono Shel Olam, Ayn Ohd Milvado, that exists. The image that came to mind was, when we were kids, we used to buy these cartoons that were many pictures of a figure drawn on a small pad of paper, where each successive picture was just a little bit different than the one before. We would flip the pictures through our fingers quickly, in sequence, one after the other, and the picture would come alive. We would see a movie. The animators at Disney used to draw hundreds or thousands of pictures of someone or something, like, for example, Mickey Mouse, in motion. And we would look at him as if he were alive. With computer animation, the motion is much smoother. And, of course, with God’s Animation, the motion is flawless. Not perceivable by the human eye as an animation . . . only by the human soul. . .sometimes. We human beings are, in effect, animations created by Hashem. But instead of drawing us, He recreates a new holographic being, not a picture, of each of us and of the world, with each successive hologram in a slightly different position or moment of thought. And He renews each of us and the entire world each microsecond or less. We see AND LIVE the animation, and Mickey Mouse comes alive, as do we. Only Mickey Mouse’s existence is on paper or on the movie screen and in the imagination of the viewer . . . whereas we, human beings, are a Cheilek Elokah miMaal – a spark of the Holy One above . . . a product of God’s Animation.
