Lechem Mishneh: The Bread of Torah Print E-mail
Written by Machberes Avodas Hashem

ShabbatThe Torah is referred to as bread, “Go out and eat My bread.” (Proverbs 9:5) Just as there is no life without bread, there is no life without Torah.

The Lechem Mishneh represent both our physical and spiritual lives and how they affect each other. They remind us that even our physical lives are part of our spiritual lives as long as we eat the bread in order to live and with an awareness that our food comes from God. (Mikdash Melech Pinchas)
