Parsha Mitzvot: Parah: Mitzvah 397 - Concept 444: Fighting Justice Print E-mail
Written by Machberes Avodas Hashem

Parsha MitzvotThe Parah Adumah is an allusion to the Oral Law, the Attribute of Justice in its most severe form. This attribute is the source of ritual impurity. The reason why this chore was given to Elazar to perform was in order that he should address the attribute of Justice in its most concentrated form. (Rabbeinu Bachya; Chukat)

The Cohen must be willing to do battle for his people, even against the most frightening and awesome Divine Attributes. Anyone who wants to lead others must be prepared to fight for them before God. The true leader must be willing to stand before God and argue for his people. (Machberes Avodas Hashem)
