ShavuotThe Torah cherishes humility. Therefore, in ancient times people studied on the ground (Megillah 21a). And therefore, too, we eat dairy foods on Shavuot, for this is a sign of smallness (dairy is lighter than, and therefore inferior to, meat, and is characterized as the state of smallness).
