Shavuot: Noam Elimelech: Clothed in Awe Print E-mail
Written by Machberes Avodas Hashem

ShavuotWhen they study Talmud they garb themselves in awe and trembling and apprehension and great reverence before God, so that their Torah glows on their faces. And when they mention the name of the Tanna or other transmitter of a tradition, they imagine that teacher standing alive before them, or the root of his light emanating from the Supreme Chariot.

Thus there falls upon them a fear and great reverence of God, without end or limit; and the love of Torah and its light Burns in them ceaselessly. When they emerge from their study, miracles and wonders are done for them as in earlier generations, so that they heal the diseased. (Noam Elimelech: Iggeret haKodesh)
