Royal Messages: The Shadchan Print E-mail

Royal MessagesThere is a Mitzvah to occupy one’s self in being a Shadchan – making matches for marriage. We need agents or brokers for many things in life. The Torah was given through an agent: Moses. The Pachad Yitzchak of Rabbi Yitzchak Lamportini (Zivug) and the Givat Shaul (Terumah) remind us that God was the first Shadchan, when He introduced Eve to Adam. (Kerem Shlomo, Even HaEzer 3)

Rosh Hashana is the anniversary of the first Shidduch. It is the most appropriate time to pray to find one’s other half and to pray for others to find theirs.

Actually, G-d actually MADE the first shidduch, literally.

Sometimes, it is incumbent upon us to MAKE the change IN OURSELVES to find our soulmates (not only the zivug kind).

They're out there, ARE WE?
