| R'Shlomo-Purim - Rhizhiner Shaloch Manos |
|
|
| Written by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach zt"l |
When the Heilige Rizhiner was in prison, all he had was a little hole so he could see when it's day and when it's night. So when Purim came he said 'Ribbono Shel Olam, there is nobody here whom I can give Shaloch Manos. You’re
the only one who is here. I want to give you Shaloch Manos’. But then he said 'Ribbono Shel Olam, I have nothing to give you. So you know what? I’m giving you my tears as Shaloch Manos. Ribbono Shel Olam, I want you to bring me back simcha as Shaloch Manos’.
You know friends, the truth is the Ribbono Shel Olam has already gathered so many tears, I don’t even know where he keeps them. I once heard form an old Chassidishe Yid a Yiddish tune. Sadly enough when I heard it, I was not into singing it so I had no tape recorder, but I just remembered it. The words are ‘Ribbono Shel Olam; I don’t know exactly how many tears you need to bring Mashiach, but Ribbono Shel Olam, if you need one more tear let it be my tear’. So, before we say goodbye I want to say Ribbono Shel Olam, if you just needed one more evening full of tears let it be tonight. |
