| Pondering the Pasuk-BE-ing . . . to Become |

Rabbi Simcha Weinberg, shlit’a, commented so beautifully on the concept of “Becoming” – the title of this week’s newsletter:“A friend asked me whether the stories I am learning about my mother a"h helped me understand
how I became who I am. I didn't hesitate for a moment in responding, "Absolutely! She was constantly becoming someone more significant. She was never satisfied with who her children were; she looked only to who they were becoming."
My Thoughts: In order to become, one first has to just “be”. We are created as human beings, not human doings. Yet we are so busy doing that we have forgotten how to “be”. In order to “be”, we must turn off the noise, both external and internal . . . and dissolve the ego. . . till there is no “I” except the Big “I” – Hashem, Master and Creator of the Universe. Then we are ready to listen . . . to the Universe itself . . . to the Almighty, of whom we are each a holy spark. When we can dissolve the “I” and just be . . . in total, deep and absolute silence . . . when we dissolve all requests, needs and desires . . . and be open and listen from a place of no self . . . then the Universe speaks.
